Where to go
Downtown folds 904 Day into its monthly First Friday event at Riverfront Plaza, 5 to 9 PM, with live music, food and dessert trucks, a Riverwalk bar, and 904-themed photo spots. A few blocks over, James Weldon Johnson Park runs its own evening gathering with local vendors and live music once the sun goes down. The Garden Club of Jacksonville opens its Riverside grounds from 4 to 7 PM for a quieter, family-friendly version. The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens knocks $9.04 off general admission September 4 through 7, then follows it with a costumed Super Saturday on September 5 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
