Memorial Day Weekend 2026 in Jacksonville

Memorial Day 2026 falls on Monday, May 25. That's a long weekend in Jax, which means beach traffic, packed brewery patios, and the unofficial start of summer.

Beach plan

The beaches will be packed. Period. Three smart calls:

• Get there early. Parking at Jax Beach pier fills by 10am.
• Go north. Mickler's Landing in Ponte Vedra and Atlantic Beach are less crowded than Jax Beach proper.
• Go to Talbot Island. Big Talbot and Little Talbot State Parks are 30 minutes from downtown and feel like another world. $5 per car.

Memorial Day events

The Beaches Memorial Day Ceremony usually happens at the Beaches Veterans Memorial Park in Jax Beach. Free, open to the public, starts mid morning.

The Jacksonville National Cemetery hosts a ceremony as well. Doors open early, expect a packed crowd.

Where to eat

Beaches eats fill up fast. Plan ahead:

• Lemon Bar (Neptune Beach): Toes in the sand, drinks in hand
• Salt Life (Jax Beach): Rooftop, ocean view
• The Brick (Riverside): If you want to skip the beach crowd
• North Beach Fish Camp: Local seafood, less touristy

What to bring

Sunscreen (SPF 50, reapply). Reef safe is the move. Beach chair, umbrella, water. Cash for parking.
